I Ching Business Name (易经公司名风水)

Stroke-Count Feng Shui for Your Company Name

Overview

I Ching Business Name Feng Shui (易经公司名风水) analyses the feng shui energy of a business or company name by converting each character to its stroke count (for Chinese) or alphabetic ordinal value (for English), then mapping consecutive stroke-count digit pairs to the 8 I Ching stars. This system bridges classical Chinese stroke-count numerology with the modern 8-star pair framework, providing a comprehensive feng shui assessment for any business name in any language.

Origin & history

Business name feng shui through stroke counting (筆划数命理) is a classical Chinese practice rooted in the belief that the visual complexity of characters carries energetic weight. Each stroke in a Chinese character contributes to the character's numerological value, and the sum of strokes in a name determines its feng shui classification. The askTIAN API extends this tradition to English names using alphabetic ordinal values.

Stroke-count numerology for business names has been practised in Chinese communities for centuries, with formal systems developed during the Qing Dynasty. In modern Southeast Asia, feng shui consultants routinely advise entrepreneurs on company name selection before SSM (Malaysia) or ACRA (Singapore) registration. The practice has expanded to include English names as bilingual businesses became the norm.

How it works

Each character in the business name is converted to a stroke count (Chinese characters use a lookup table; Latin letters use their alphabetic position A=1 to Z=26; digits use their face value). The stroke counts are concatenated into a digit string, which is then grouped into consecutive pairs and mapped to the 8 I Ching stars. The dominant star type and overall rating are computed, and an LLM synthesises an interpretation covering wealth, industry fit, growth prospects, and relationship energy.
